Admissions Requirements

General Requirements

Under the age of 35 for graduate program (Age limit is flexible for healthy applicants with certain work experience and high academic ability). Applicants must be Bachelor’s degree holders (Those who provide pre-graduation certificate or student status certificate at application MUST provide Bachelor's degree diploma no later than registration).

With proper moral conduct, in good health with no infectious disease or any physical or mental disease that may affect the normal study.

Language Proficiency

If applicants’ native language is not English, they should provide a score report of English language test.

English Language Entry Requirements: TOEFL (minimum score of 90), IELTS (6.5 or higher) or other proof of English proficiency.

No Chinese language proficiency is required for the program.

Work Experience

iMBA applicants are encouraged to have prior work experience.

Requirements on Citizenship

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with an ordinary foreign passport.

Applicants who have given up their original Chinese citizenship (including residents in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) and become foreign citizens shall provide the documents certifying the cancellation of Chinese citizenship and household registration.

If the applicant has acquired foreign citizenship automatically at the time of birth in a foreign country, whose parents were both Chinese citizens, or one of the parents was a Chinese citizen, parent’s (with Chinese citizenship) permanent resident in foreign country should be obtained prior to the birth of the applicant.

Note: If the applicant is concluded to have Chinese citizenship by the exit-entry administrations of the Chinese public security organs after application, admission or enrollment, their application eligibility, admission offer, enrollment qualification, or student status shall be revoked.

Supporting Documents

Applicants must log in to the Online Application System for International Students of Zhejiang University (Link), fill in clearly and upload completely the original or notarized scanned copies of the following materials as required.

1. Personal information page of passport.* The expiry date of the passport should be after March 1, 2027. If it does not meet the time requirement, please renew it in advance. Passport information cannot be changed before registration for enrollment.

2. Highest degree certificates.* Those who provide pre-graduation certificate or student status certificate at application MUST provide Bachelor’s degree diploma no later than registration.

3. Academic transcripts during Bachelor’s degree study. Graduating students should submit transcripts up to the current semester. 

4. Language proficiency certificates. 

5. A 1500-word personal statement, in Chinese or English, should include study and work experience, reasons for application and study proposals.

6. Two letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors. Professors’ signature, contact phone number and email address must be put on the letter.

7. Published academic papers or other academic achievements. (If applicable)

8. Applicants who have given up their original Chinese citizenship and become foreign citizens shall provide:*Documents certifying the cancellation of Chinese citizenship;*Documents certifying the cancellation of Chinese household registration;*Documents certifying the acquirement of foreign citizenship;*Self-Statement Form of Nationality Status and Nationality Confirmation and Guarantee Letter (Download).

9. If the applicant has acquired foreign citizenship automatically at the time of birth in a foreign country, whose parents were both Chinese citizens, or one of the parents was Chinese citizen shall provide:*Documents certifying the acquirement of foreign citizenship at the time of birth;*Documents certifying parent’s (with Chinese citizenship) permanent residence in foreign country before the birth of the applicant;*Self-Statement Form of Nationality Status and Nationality Confirmation and Guarantee Letter (Download).

10. Commitments for Zhejiang University Master Application (Download). The PDF version of the Commitments must be clearly and completely filled out and hand-signed. Applications without the Commitments will not be accepted.

Notes

The above application materials must be in Chinese or English, and notarized copies of translations must be provided for texts in other languages along with the original copy.

Please ensure that all required documents have been uploaded in accordance with the requirements. Once the application is submitted, supplementary materials will generally not be accepted. The school reserves the right to request supplementary documents from applicants if necessary.

Please ensure that the application fee is paid online or that a remittance voucher is uploaded. Applications for admission and scholarships will not be processed if the application fee is not paid.

All application materials will be reviewed and processed through the application system. Please DO NOT mail the hard copies of the application materials or send them by e-mail. The paper application materials and the application materials sent by e-mail will not be reviewed and processed.

  • Submission of Supporting Documents

    A complete set of supporting documents must be uploaded via the application portal. DO NOT send hard copies.

    Note:

    · Supporting documents must be legible and clear.

    · Name the files in English.

    · Applicants are required to upload documents for the program applied.

  • Interview (On a Rolling Basis)

    Our admissions team will carefully select candidates to be interviewed. Interviews will be conducted via videoconference on a rolling basis. However, we recommend that each applicant apply as early as possible.

Methods of payment:

1. Application fee and tuition can be paid via the online application system as listed above.

2. Alternatively, application fee and tuition can be paid to the University's Bank Account (Link) and upload the remittance letter to the System, including the payee's name and contact details.

* The final interpretation of the ZIBS Hai Scholarship belongs to the ZIBS Admission Office.

Zhejiang Government Scholarship for New International Master’s Degree Students

* RMB 30,000
